The River Course
The Greg Norman-designed 6,945-yard River Course winds its way around the Mameyes River, with El Yunque National Forest, as a breathtaking backdrop. In its meandering layout, Norman preserved the native foliage and let the natural terrain determine the placement of all holes. Ideal for all skill levels, the design features tight fairways, open greens, shallow bunkers and light rough. By preserving the island’s flourishing indigenous vegetation, the course highlights the spectacular beauty that gives northeast Puerto Rico its unique character. Typical of Norman’s courses, all 18 holes can rate the title of signature. Each hole offers a new and stunning view of the Rainforest, native wetlands, Mameyes River, and ever-present clusters of palms. As the only course in the Caribbean designed by Greg "The Shark" Norman, it is fitting that the refreshment bar at the 10th hole – The Shark Bar – be named in his honor.
The Ocean Course
Panoramic Atlantic views and ocean breezes – and iguanas – accompany golfers along all 6,782 yards of the Tom & George Fazio-designed Ocean Course. One of Puerto Rico’s most popular courses, its classic layout features four sets of tees, numerous bunkers and elevated greens. The signature 16th hole, an ocean-side par-3, 240 yards, always rates among the Caribbean’s best. For golfers who enjoy playing to an audience, hole four is home to hundreds of iguana lizards, some as long as five feet, that enjoy a relaxing sun-drenched view of the greens. Bordering the Atlantic Ocean, the course is known for its demanding play and challenges even the big hitters.

Both The River and The Ocean courses are served by The Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa, a Wyndham Grand Resort Country Club, a magnificent 35,000-square-foot clubhouse, and the centerpiece of this golfer’s paradise. The Grille Room Restaurant is known for succulent steaks and seafood, and sweeping course views, while the Iguana Pub overlooks the El Yunque National Forest and offers afternoon bites and evening libations. The Country Club also features a full-service pro shop, with fashionable attire and equipment sale and rentals, as well as men’s and women’s facilities with lockers, saunas, massage, whirlpools and steam baths. The driving range, putting green and chipping area allow for individual practice, with resident golf pros available for private and group instruction and clinics.
